Business Broken Into In Shaker Heights On Sunday

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — Someone broke into the Chagrin Wine & Beverage store on early Sunday morning, stealing merchandise and money, Shaker Heights Police said. After getting the alarm call at 6:05 a.m., officers were on-hand in three minutes.

There was no sign of the suspect when officers arrived. Police are hoping to get surveillance footage from inside the business.

The building was locked on Saturday night. The burglar had to pry open a rear delivery door at the business to get inside, a spokesperson for Shaker Heights Police told Patch.

The store was not in total disarray when police arrived, but some merchandise was taken and other items were on the floor of the business. Money was also taken from Chagrin Wine & Beverage. The rear delivery door was definitely damaged, police said.

Staff at the business are still checking inventory to determine exactly what was stolen.
