Car Jacker Tries To Steal Elderly Shaker Height's Woman's Car

The suspect jumped into the back of the woman's car and tried to get her to drive him somewhere.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — Police are looking for a man that attempted to steal an elderly woman's car on Aug. 7.

The woman was waiting to pick up another group of people at Shaker Towne Center when the man got into the back of the woman's vehicle and told her to drive him somewhere, likely hoping to intimidate the woman. The woman refused and the man eventually got out of the car.

Police say no one was hurt during the incident and no weapon was seen. A composite sketch of the suspect has been released and anyone who recognizes the suspect has been asked to contact the Shaker Heights Police Department's Communications Center at 216-491-1234. The suspect is described a black man, 18-21 years of age, standing 5'6 to 5'9, 125-140 lbs., with a thin mustache. He was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and brightly colored socks at the time of the incident.
