Carjackings, Stolen Cars And More In Shaker Heights: Blotter
There were eight thefts involving cars between the middle of November and the end of the month.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — Between mid-November and December 1, there were at least eight thefts involving vehicles in Shaker Heights. Most of the crimes involved property stolen from unlocked vehicles, but a car and a minivan were stolen and a catalytic converter was cut form a Chevrolet Cavalier.
On Friday, Nov. 16, a Cavalier parked in the garage of the Tower East building, on Chagrin Boulevard, had a catalytic converter cut from it. The owner of the vehicle, a Clevelander, reported the theft to police.
Two days later, on Nov. 18, property was stolen from an unlocked car parked on Avalon Road. Then, on Monday, Nov. 19, two teenagers were detained after they stole property from an unlocked vehicle that was in the Heinen's parking lot on Chagrin Boulevard.

More property was stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Winchell Road on Saturday, Nov. 24.
On Nov. 25, a woman was carjacked on Van Aken Boulevard by two teenagers. One of the suspects had a gun. The duo took the woman's keys and drove her car into Cleveland Heights, where they crashed. The two suspects were then arrested by police.

An unlocked car was targeted on Wednesday, Nov. 28 when it was parked on Van Aken Boulevard. In the latter case, the vehicle was damaged, police said. That same day, someone then broke into a locked car on Lee Road and took personal property
Finally, on Friday, a 2001 Chrysler Town & Country van was stolen from the 2000 block of Kemper Road. The van had an Indiana license plate reading YKY735.
