Christmas Eve Robbery In Shaker Heights: 2 Suspects Arrested

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — A man was robbed in the parking lot of A Touch of Italy on Christmas Eve. Police tracked down and arrested two suspects in the mugging.

The suspects drove a Hummer into the parking lot of the Chagrin Boulevard restaurant at approximately 1 a.m. One of the suspects got out of the vehicle and pointed a gun toward the man. The suspect took cash and jewelry from the man, jumped back into the Hummer, and drove off.

Luckily, police said, the victim was able to provide a thorough description of the Hummer and the suspects to police. Shaker Heights sent out the details on the robbery to nearby police departments, and the Hummer was located near Union and Kinsman roads at 3:11 a.m.

Two men, including the suspect with the gun, were arrested by Shaker Heights and Cleveland police officers. The suspects are both men from Cleveland, ages 46 and 29.

Shaker Heights Police Commander John Cole told Patch the men will be charged with aggravated robbery for the incident.

The victim, a 36-year-old man from Barberton, was unharmed.
