Citizens Police Academy Registration Open In Shaker Heights
The 10-week course will feature police officers discussing investigation tactics, ride alongs, and other insights into the department.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — Registration for the Shaker Heights Citizens Police Academy closes Aug. 20. The academy will give residents an inside look at how the department operates and provide insight into the life of a police officer. The academy begins Sept. 7.
The academy runs for 10-weeks. Residents and people that work full-time in the city are eligible for the course. Students are provided with all necessary materials and there is no fee for the course. The group will meet weekly for three-hour sessions. Discussions will focus on topics like criminal investigation, response to threats, K-9 Units, and tactics. There will be a combination of classroom lectures and field visits. Participants will also have an opportunity to ride along with an officer on patrol.
