Community BBQ In Shaker Heights On July 27

From the City of Shaker Heights: Over the past seven months, we gathered, we chilled, we toasted. We celebrated spring blooms and buzzed with excitement about Shaker’s new downtown. Now, with summer in full swing, it’s time to gather one last time before the District opens its doors.

BBQ@VAD will feature a delicious cookout, live entertainment and activities for all ages on Friday, July 27 from 6pm to sunset in the Van Aken District.Shaker Heights firefighters will fire up the grill and they and members of Shaker’s Police force will serve traditional barbecue fare (hot dogs and burgers) with proceeds benefiting the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Food trucks will also be on hand to offer up a variety of menu options. Raise a glass to summer with seasonal beer and wine and top off the evening with dessert from Mitchell’s Ice Cream and more. Featured entertainment includes Wesley Bright & the Honeytones performing on an outdoor stage, as well as activities for all ages. CLE Clothing Co. will have their Van Aken District line available for purchase.
