Construction Slated For Shaker Heights Schools

Several of the district's schools will be getting upgrades or renovations starting June 7.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — Several construction projects will begin at the Shaker Heights Schools on June 7, the district announced. Work will be happening at the high school, Boulevard Elementary, Fernway, Mercer, Woodbury, the Middle School and at Onaway Elementary.

"For safety reasons, there will be no access to the playground at Onaway during the replacement of the asphalt play area and a retaining wall. As an alternative, we suggest families use the play areas at Boulevard or Woodbury," the district said in a post on its website.

Construction is currently slated to last from June 7 to August 13, but everything will be weather dependent. Work with heavy equipment could last from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., but asphalt replacement could extend the work day to 6 p.m. or 7 p.m.
