Credit Union Robbed In Shaker Heights

A masked man used a gun to rob the Buckeye State Credit Union on Saturday morning.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — A masked man robbed the Buckeye State Credit Union on Saturday morning. The suspect was able to get away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The robbery happened at about 9:39 a.m. That's when the man came into the credit union, pulled out a black handgun and demanded cash. He handed tellers a black grocery bag to put the money into.

The man got the cash and then ran out of the bank. Police arrived at the bank shortly after the man had fled, but were unable to capture him.

At this point in the investigation, it appears the suspect may have been working alone. However, he was able to escape the area very quickly, a Shaker Heights Police spokesperson told Patch. That could suggest a second person involved in the robbery.

No one was hurt during the incident.

The suspect's face and hands were covered during the robbery. Police were able to confirm that the suspect is a male and stood between six feet one inches and six feet two inches tall.

Shaker Heights Police are still investigating this incident.
