Take to the Lake

For one day only, Horseshoe Lake in Shaker Heights will be open to canoes and kayaks for an afternoon of frolicking in our own backyard! Bring your own kayak or canoe, or if you don't have a boat and want to explore the sport of paddling, take a class on the Lake with our kayaking specialists for a nominal $5 fee.

Join the Doan Brook Watershed Partnership as it celebrates our local water resources and the memory of founding Board member Lester Stumpe. Bring a picnic and join fellow paddlers and Doan Brook fans at the Park Pavilion during the afternoon; a commemorative ceremony will be held at 5pm.

Registration is mandatory for anyone interested in paddling or enrolling in a kayaking class. Minimum age is 10 years old.
