Fake Money Used to Rip Off Shaker Heights Resident

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH - Buying and selling any type of equipment on the Internet is a risky endeavour. A Shaker Heights resident found that out the hard way when two men used fake money to rip him off and steal electronic equipment. That and other incidents in this week's police blotter.

Burglary, Dec. 4 - Someone broke into a Chadbourne Road resident's garage and stole two bicycles.

Theft, Dec. 5 - A Normandy Road resident had a package stolen from their home on Dec. 5. They reported the incident on Dec. 7.

Theft, Dec. 6 - Police detained a 17-year-old male who was holding a stolen cell phone. The 17-year-old was at the Hibachi To Go, in the 16000 block of Chagrin Boulevard.

Fraud, Dec. 8 - A resident in the 16000 block of Chagrin Boulevard told police that two unknown male suspects used counterfeit money to buy electronic equipment the man was selling. The resident used a website called Offerup.com to sell his equipment.
