Hall Of Fame Class For Shaker Schools Announced
Meet the eight inductees for the Class of 2018.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — Shaker Heights Schools has announced its newest batch of Hall of Fame inductees. The Class of 2018 is made up of eight famous journalists, business leaders, doctors, law and foreign policy makers and more.
The new class will be inducted at a special Hall of Fame assembly on Sept. 28. The event will be held at Shaker Heights High, where inductees will talk to students about their keys to success and how a Shaker education shaped them.

- Dr. Abby Abelson, ‘72, chair of the Cleveland Clinic Department of Rheumatic & Immunologic Diseases and president of the Rheumatology Research Foundation;
- Michael Green, ‘80, founder and CEO of the Center for Environmental Health;
- David A. Hansell, ‘71, commissioner of Child Welfare Services for New York City;
- Judy Harris, ‘66, mental health advocate and former senior attorney of the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice;
- Aaron David Miller, ‘67, Middle East analyst and current vice president for New Initiatives at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars;
- Kathy Roth-Douquet, ‘82, attorney, author, military family advocate, and CEO of Blue Star Families;
- Jamil Smith, ‘93, renowned journalist and senior writer at Rolling Stone Magazine; and
- Abdul Williams, ‘90, film writer and winner of the 2018 NAACP Image Award for outstanding writing for the BET miniseries, “The New Edition Story.”
A public dinner honoring the inductees will be held Saturday, Sept. 29 at the Shaker Heights Country Club. That event will start at 6:30 p.m. Tickets for the dinner can be purchased at shaker.org/homecoming.
