Holiday Event, Chill & Toast, Coming To Shaker Heights Dec. 1

The free event is family-friendly and will offer residents and non-residents hot chocolate, a public bonfire and more.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — A new event, hosted by the city and free to the public, will hit the Van Aken District Dec. 1. The event, called the Chill & Toast, is meant to bring the community together and launch a series of other municipal events.

“Chill & Toast will bring residents together to celebrate some of the current retailers as well as some of the future shops coming to the new development in the Van Aken District,” said Mayor Earl Leiken in a statement. “Due to the popularity of the summer Beer Garden events, we want to continue to offer opportunities to gather with friends and neighbors. We can’t think of a better way to start the holiday season than getting together with a few hundred of our favorite people under the stars.”

From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., the free event is family-friendly, with a bevy of activities for all ages. The city said in a press release that Chill & Toast will offer a central bonfire, around which attendees can sip hot chocolate. There will also be heated outdoor lounges, outdoor games, crafts and a live band on an outdoor stage.
