The Shaker Historical Society, 16740 South Park Blvd. in Shaker Heights, OH presents our Annual Holiday Open House on Sunday, December 7, 2014 from 3-5pm. Come to the SHS and get into the holiday spirit. Invite your friends and family to the historical society for sweets and savories, nibbles and bits! Enjoy the museum’s exhibits while being serenaded by the Nightingale’s.
While savoring the holiday atmosphere, guests will be able to enjoy the new exhibit in our rotating exhibit room: Toyland Exhibit featuring LEGOS! This exhibit showcases the talent of NeoLUG (Northeast Ohio Lego Users Group). Also on exhibit, in the Jack & Linda Lissauer Art Gallery will be “Awash in Color - Paintings by Wally Kaplan and Rita Schuenemann.”
In the spirit of the Shakers, who opened their doors to any person in need, we will be collecting non-perishable items to be donated to the Shaker Heights Community Hunger Center. The food drive will begin December 1st at 11am and run through December 19th at 5pm. Please feel free to bring an item with you to our Holiday Open House. Any person who brings a non-perishable item to the museum will receive a pass for one free admission to a lecture/program at the museum in 2015.
