Lock Your Cars! Thieves Target Shaker Heights Vehicles

Prowlers are targeting unlocked vehicles and homes throughout the city. Lock up after yourself and keep yourself safe.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — Unlocked cars have again been targeted by opportunistic thieves in Shaker Heights. Vehicles on Ludgate Road, Daleford Road and Chelton Road were all hit by thieves over the past week.

Theft, Oct. 23 — Someone broke into a car in the 3000 block of Chelton Road and stole personal property.

Theft, Oct. 23 — A resident in the 3000 block of Ludgate Road reported someone stole property out of a locked car.

Shoplifting, Oct. 25 — Shaker Heights police stopped a 37-year-old Cleveland resident stole merchandise from the Shaker Hardware store on Chagrin Boulevard. The man was detained.

Theft, Oct. 25 — Someone stole a Shaker Heights High School student's bicycle from outside the school. The bicycle was locked at the time of the theft.

Shoplifting, Oct. 25 — A man stole electronics from the Walgreens store in the 16000 block of Chagrin Blvd. The manager of the store reported the theft at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Theft from Motor Vehicle, Oct. 27 — Someone stole property out of an unlocked car parked in the 3000 block of Daleford Road. The theft was discovered Friday morning at about 10 a.m.

Burglary, Oct. 28 — A home in the 2900 block of West Park Blvd. was left unlocked Saturday. Someone came into the house and stole electronics and other personal property.

Theft from Motor Vehicle, Oct. 29 — Personal property was stolen from an unlocked car parked in the 16000 block of Scottsdale Blvd.
