Superintendent Gregory Hutchings discusses the implementation of the district's 5-year strategic plan and other district accomplishments.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH - The State of the Schools address on Feb. 28 includes an opening performance from the Shaker Heights Chamber Orchestra, which recently returned from a national competition in New York City.
The orchestra's performance is emblematic of a district in the midst of a successful school year. During the address, the district touted its International Baccalaureate program and several programs introduced to the district by Superintendent Gregory Hutchings.
Hutchings begins his address by discussing the achievements that Shaker students accomplish after leaving the schools, noting that the district has produced film directors, Pulitzer prize winners, and celebrities. He also discusses a student who graduated from Shaker and went on to receive a doctorate degree from the University of California.
