Money, iPads Stolen from Unlocked Cars in Shaker Heights

A pair of residents didn't lock their respective cars and paid the price. A prowler hit their vehicles and got money and tech from the cars.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH - Police had a relatively quiet weekend in the city. Two more residents either refused or forgot to lock their cars and paid the price. A prowler made off with money and technology thanks to the unlocked cars.

Theft, Feb. 3 - At about 8 a.m., a Chagrin Boulevard resident reported that an unidentified suspect stole their bookbag, iPad, and laptop during the overnight hours. The stolen goods were in the resident's unlocked car, which was parked in their driveway.

Theft, Feb. 4 - Someone stole a juvenile resident's cell phone during a visit to University Middle School on Brantley Road. The theft occurred at about 2:30 p.m.

Burglary, Feb. 4 - A resident of an apartment complex on Fairhill Road reported that someone broke into their apartment and stole cash. The theft was reported at about 3:30 p.m.

Theft, Feb. 4 - Another theft from another unlocked vehicle. This time the victim's car was on the 17100 block of Lomond Boulevard and the theft was discovered at about 1 p.m.
