New Principal At Shaker Heights Middle School
The school district is promoting a long-time assistant principal.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — Miata Hunter will be the Shaker Middle School's next principal, the district announced this week. She takes over for David Glasner who is becoming the school system's executive director of curriculum and instruction.
A competitive interview process was used to select Hunter. Feedback on candidates was given to the district by more than 165 residents and staff members. Hunter ultimately beat out more than 120 applicants to become Glasner's successor.
“We believe that community and staff input are absolutely crucial to the process of hiring a principal, and I want to thank everyone who shared their time, thoughts and insights,” said Gregory C. Hutchings, Jr., Superintendent of Schools. “Ms. Hunter is a dynamic role model for our students. She shows them that you can aspire to be anything, even principal of your school. We are delighted she has agreed to take on this new challenge.”
