Online Exchange Goes Bad In Shaker Heights: Blotter
Police dealt with a variety of incidents during the week of Halloween.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — During an online transaction carried out at Shaker Heights Public Library, a seller from Seven Hills was ripped off. The would-be buyer got the seller's cell phone and took off without paying. Read more about that incident and others from the past week below.
Theft from Car, Oct. 29 — Property was stolen out of an unlocked car parked in 16000 block of Scottsdale Boulevard.
Receiving Stolen Goods, Oct. 31 — Three men were detained by police after they were found in possession of stolen goods. The men, ages 29, 30 and 37, reportedly snagged merchandise from the 7-11/BP Gas Station on Chagrin Boulevard. The men were seen by police and arrested.

Theft from Building, Nov. 1 — Someone stole a cell phone case from a Shaker Quality Foods employee. The theft was reported at 8:30 p.m.
Theft, Nov. 2 — In another cell phone-based theft, a Seven Hills resident reported getting ripped off in Shaker Heights. The Seven Hills resident had used OfferUp.com to sell a cell phone. The online purchaser met the seller at Shaker Heights Public Library. However, instead of ponying up for the phone, the buyer grabbed the food and took off.
