Parma Heights House Explosion: 1 Dead, According To Reports

One person died in a home explosion in Parma Heights Saturday, officials say.

PARMA HEIGHTS, OH — At least one person died when a house reportedly exploded Saturday afternoon in Parma Heights.

The home in the 6300 block of Mallo Place exploded around 1:30 p.m., according to WKYC, which reported gas had been shut off in the area.

Firefighters from Parma Heights and surrounding areas converged at the scene, where they reportedly pulled a body from the wreckage.

Crews found a truck ablaze and leaking fuel in the garage when they arrived, according to News5, which reported it was unclear whether the homeowner — an older man — was home at the time.
