Rash Of Thefts From Unlocked Cars, Homes In Shaker

Over the weekend, thieves hit several unlocked cars and homes and got away with cash, electronics, and other personal property.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH - One of the common themes of this police blotter has become residents having their unlocked homes and cars prowled through by thieves. Each week police and Patch ask residents to lock their cars and homes for safety purposes.

Over the weekend another round of the thefts occurred, as prowlers hit unlocked cars and homes and made off with loose money, electronics, and other personal property. This is your now weekly reminder: lock your cars, lock your homes, and protect your belongings.

Theft, May 5 - Someone went into an unlocked car in the 3000 block of Winchell Road and stole change from the vehicle. The theft was reported at 6:50 a.m. on May 5.

Theft, May 6 - Electronics and money were stolen from an unlocked home in the 3000 block of Warrington Road. The theft was reported at 11:10 a.m. on May 6.

Shoplifting, May 6 - Two unidentified women stole cosmetics from the CVS Store located in the 17000 block of Chagrin Boulevard.

Theft, May 7 - Seomeone entered an unlocked residence in the 3000 block of Colwyn Road and stole copper.

Theft, May 7 - Personal property and money were stolen from an unlocked car in the 3000 block of Riedham Road. Police say the theft occurred during the early morning hours.
