Residents Help Catch Car Thief In Shaker Heights
Community members shared tips with police that led to the arrest of a 45-year-old man suspected of stealing a car.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — Residents make a city into a community. Over the weekend, residents came together to help catch a thief that stole a car. Motor Vehicle Theft, Aug. 4 — Residents called Shaker Heights Police and tipped officers to a suspect who may have stolen a motor vehicle. At about 11:50 a.m., police detained a 45-year-old man who was found in possession of a stolen vehicle.
Shoplifting, Aug. 5 — A group of juveniles stole candy from the Walgreens Store in the 20000 block of Van Aken Blvd. and then fled the store on foot.

Theft, Aug. 5 — A Beachwood resident at the Pet Value Store, on Chagrin Blvd., told police an unknown suspect stole their bicycle. The bike had been left unlocked outside the store.
Theft, Aug. 6 — A resident in the 3000 block of Aberdeen Rd. reported that someone stole their unlocked bicycle.

Theft, Aug. 6 — Someone entered a locked storage locker and stole two bicycles from a Fairhill Road resident.
