CLEVELAND, OH β€” July 4th will soon be here. Plan out your fireworks and festivities schedule with this look at holiday happenings in Greater Cleveland.

There are plenty of ways to celebrate the holiday. For those interested in taking a trip into Cleveland, one option is a dinnertime and fireworks cruise on the Goodtime III. The ship will maneuver its way around the city while giving people the chance to dance the night away. Tickets cost $63.95-$89.95.

Not in the mood to hit the Goodtime? There are other nautical options for the seaworthy fireworks watchers. The deck of the steamship William G. Mather will host a party, providing a view of fireworks and beer from a nearby beer garden.

Many of Greater Cleveland's suburbs will also be celebrating the holiday. Here's a guide to the pool parties, parades and fireworks scheduled throughout the region.

  • Avon Lake β€” Independence Day in Avon Lake will be celebrated on July 2 and July 4. A free fireworks show will be held July 2 at 7 p.m. at Weiss Park. City offices will be closed on July 4, in observation of the holiday.
  • Cleveland Heights β€” The Cleveland Heights Community Center, City Hall offices, and Cleveland Heights Municipal Court will be closed on July 4 in observation of Independence Day. Cain Park will also be closed on that Tuesday. Trash and recycling will be delayed by one day.
  • Lakewood β€” The city will host a parade on July 4 at 10 a.m. There will also be a free concert held from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. that Tuesday. The Lakewood Project, Lakewood High School’s Youth Rock Orchestra, will perform at the bandstand at Lakewood Park.
  • Shaker Heights β€” The city will host a pool party to commemorate the Independence Day holiday. The party will be held 2 p.m. through 6 p.m. at the Thornton Park Pool, 3301 Warrensville Ctr. Rd.
  • Solon β€” The city will observe Independence Day on July 4th at dusk with a fireworks show. The event will be held in Solon Community Park, 6647 SOM Center Rd.
  • Strongsvilleβ€” The city's annual Independence Day celebration display will be held at 10 p.m. at the Foltz Athletic Field on July 4. The celebration will include fireworks.
  • Westlake β€” The city's annual 4th of July parade will kick off on Hilliard Boulevard at 10 a.m. The parade will proceed along east to Clague Park. After the parade, the city is hosting a pool party at Peterson Pool.
