Service Yard Closed In Shaker Heights Saturday

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — Weather has cancelled the large item and recycling drop-off event scheduled for Saturday, the city announced on its website. Snow showers are likely for Dec. 30, including two inches of accumulation, the National Weather Service said.

The city's Service Yard will be closed on Saturday due to the weather, hence the cancellation of the event. Snow plows will need to move safely through the area to clear streets and then return to the Yard. That shouldn't impact post-holiday clean-up for most families.

Christmas trees can be placed on the tree lawn for collection. Trees should not be wrapped in plastic bags and must be stripped of all ornaments, tree stands or any other decoration. Trees will be ground for soil and mulch, the city said.
