Shaker Arts Council Looking For Artists For Webinars
The SHAC is hosting a series of arts classes and webinars for the community.
SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — The Shaker Arts Council (SHAC) is looking for artists to teach online classes for the community.
The arts council is planning to present various arts programs through Zoom during the month of July. The series is part of SHAC's Stay-in-Place Productions, a response to the new coronavirus pandemic.
Classes could cover any artistic genre, including: dance, cake decorating, jewelry making, painting, writing, drawing, improvisation, music theory, scrap booking or even juggling. Classes can be one-day workshops or multi-day series.

Applications for classes will be reviewed by the SHAC selection committee. The filing deadline is June 25, 2020. Applicants will be notified after they are reviewed by the committee.
Preference will be given to residents of Shaker Heights and the Shaker Heights School District and to Shaker Arts Council members.

The Shaker Arts Council is also seeking presenters for webinars on arts-related topics.
"Webinars will be free and open to the public. SHAC will not be able to compensate presenters; however, we hope that this opportunity to share your expertise will help give you exposure and promote your business," the council said in a statement.
Webinars will be scheduled for one-hour slots. The format is a formal presentation followed by a question-and-answer period. Examples of possible topics include:
- How to write contracts between artists and patrons
- How to sell your art on Etsy
- Managing stress with the arts
- Navigating your arts career
The deadline for application is June 25.
