Shaker Heights Announces Ghost and Goblins 5K and 1 Mile Run
The race will benefit the Lynn Ruffner Recreation For Youth Scholarship Fund, which helps students attend summer programs and camps.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH - It's the scariest time of the year and that means it's time to gather up the family and make a run for it. More accurately, you should join the 2016 Ghosts and Goblins 5K and 1 Mile Run in Thornton Park and put that running to good use.
The family friendly fun run will raise funds for the Lynn Ruffner Recreation For Youth Scholarship Fund, which helps economically needy children attend summer programs and camps. Families are encouraged to dress up in costumes for the race. Presumably, you wouldn't want anything too restricting. Ghosts and goblins still need to jog without tripping on their costumes.
The race will be held Oct. 8 in Thornton Park, 3301 Warrensville Center Rd. You can register before the race or the day of. Check-in and costume contest entry will begin at 8 a.m. The race will begin at 9 a.m. Awards will be given to the top female and male runners in the 5K, and the top 5K female and male runners in these age groups: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64 and 65+.
