Shaker Heights Avalon Rd. Resurfacing Starts Week Of July 13

The week of July 13, a contractor (Burton Scott) will start resurfacing Avalon Rd. between Fernway Rd. and Van Aken Blvd. Anticipated duration is four weeks (weather permitting).

The general scope of work includes:

Step 1: Removal of existing asphalt pavementStep 2: Adjustment of catch basin and manholes, replacement of select driveway aprons and installation of new ADA curb ramps (as necessary).Step 3: Placement of the asphalt courseStep 4: Pavement markings

Please note:

• There will be no on-street parking permitted between 7 am and 7 pm.
• To avoid delays that could prolong completion of the project, please do not blow leaves or other debris into the street. Please advise landscapers of this request.
• If your driveway apron is being replaced and it is necessary to park on the street overnight, please call the Police Department at 216-491-1220 or use the online Overnight Parking Request form.
