Shaker Heights Bands Earn Top Marks
Ohio Music Educators Association gave top ratings to the Shaker Heights High School bands.
SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH —The Shaker Heights High School bands competed at the Ohio Music Educators Association (OMEA) Large Group event on Saturday, March 10. Each of the high school's five bands earned excellent or superior ratings.
The Wind Ensemble and Concert Ensemble both received the top rating possible from judges, a rating of 1. The bands performed in the following classes: Wind Ensemble (AA), Symphonic Band (A), Concert Band (B), Concert Ensemble (B) and Concert Winds (B).
The Shaker Heights School District shared news of the bands' performances on its website, saying "Congratulations to all the Shaker Bands!"

The district added, "These students have worked hard and improved as students and musicians, which is the main goal of contest."
