Shaker Heights Cops Seek National Re-Accreditation
The department is looking to be re-accredited at the national level for the ninth straight year.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — For the ninth straight year, Shaker Heights Police are seeking accreditation at the national level through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). The program ensures departments are meeting professional standards and using state-of-the-art tactics. Residents will be able to participate in the assessment.
Inspectors from CALEA will be on-site at the department to inspect four pillars of law enforcement. The inspectors will examine Shaker Heights based on its policy and procedures, administration, operations and support services.
On June 28, a community listening session will be held where members of the agency, as well as the public, will be able to voice their thoughts on the department. The session will be held at Shaker Heights Municipal Court, 3355 Lee Rd. at 5:30 p.m.
