Shaker Heights Finance Director Takes Position in Solon City Hall

After a two-year stint as finance director, Matt Rubino is moving on.

Shaker Heights finance director, Matt Rubino, confirmed Friday that he will be moving to the Solon City Hall in months.

“This was another opportunity to further my personal career. I really enjoyed working for Shaker Heights, but this was an opportunity I wanted to move into," Rubino told Patch.

Rubino began his role as Shaker’s finance director approximately two years ago. Previously, Rubino worked at Cuyahoga County Office of Budget and Management for 13 years, most recently as budget director.

Rubino helped Shaker Heights retain an “AAA” bond rating by Fitch Ratings, the highest possible rating. Fitch Ratings confirmed Shaker’s “AAA” rating in reports from 2011, 2012 and 2014. Shaker Heights is one of a small group of local cities with a “AAA” rating from one of the three major rating agencies.

Rubino will serve as the finance director for Solon.
