Shaker Heights High Principal Candidates Announced

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — Then there were two.

Shaker Heights High has narrowed its field of candidates for the role of principal to two finalists. Those finalists are Eric R. Juli and Patrick D. McNichols, the school district announced on Wednesday afternoon.

Juli is the head of school at the Design Lab Early College High School in Cleveland. He previously held a variety of administrative positions in the Lawrence (Massachusetts) Public Schools. He has also taught in Boston, California and New York City.

McNichols is the current principal of Roxboro Middle School in Cleveland Heights. Before going to Cleveland Heights, McNichols was a house principal at Lakewood High and principal of East High School in Cleveland. He began his educational career as a teacher at Max S. Hayes Vocational School in Cleveland.

Both candidates will have meet-and-greet community sessions next week. Juli's community session is Monday, April 29. McNichol's community session will be held Wednesday, May 1. Both sessions will take place in the Shaker High upper cafeteria from 4:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.

Both candidates will also have full-day interviews and visits to the district next week. The community sessions will be videotaped and posted on the school district website by Friday, May 3. An electronic form will be provided for community feedback, the district said.

A new Shaker Heights High principal should be announced on May 10, the district said.
