Shaker Heights Hiring Police Officers

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — The Shaker Heights Police Department has several vacancies it needs to fill. Applications are available online and must be returned between Aug. 12 — Aug. 16. Only the first 80 applications will be accepted. Starting salary ranges between $47,365—$76,019, depending on experience.

The department announced in June that it would soon be seeking applicants for open positions. At that time, job-seekers were asked to participate in and complete a physical agility exam.

According to the city's website, the minimum qualifications for applicants, include being 21 or older, a U.S. citizen, having a high school diploma or GED equivalent, and being physically able to perform the duties of a police officer. Being a resident of Shaker Heights is not a requirement and will not net applicants bonus points.
