Shaker Heights Holidays 2016: School Closings, Trash Collection Schedule

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH - With December upon us, the holidays will be rolling into your home in the blink of an eye. Patch has compiled some of the need-to-know dates for community members.

Shaker Schools are closed for Winter Recess from Dec. 17 - Dec. 31. The high school's winter orchestra concert will be Dec. 15 and it starts at 7:30 p.m.

St. Dominic's Church is holding a pair of Christmas Concerts Dec. 10-Dec. 11. The Dec. 10 show starts at 11 a.m. and the Dec. 11 show begins at 5 p.m. The Christ Episcopal Church is holding a Cookie Walk and Holiday Bazaar Dec. 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

According to the city, trash collection will be delayed by one day:

Christmas Day - Sunday, December 25 (in lieu Monday, December 26)
Monday through Friday pick-ups delayed by one day

Christmas Tree Removal
Place Christmas trees on the tree lawn. Do not wrap in anything (such as plastic bags). The trees are collected and ground for soil and mulch.
