The Shaker Heights Landmark Commission seeks submissions to its fifth annual Preservation Month Photo Contest in 2017.
From City of Shaker Heights: The Shaker Heights Landmark Commission seeks submissions to its fifth annual Preservation Month Photo Contest. The contest was created in honor of National Preservation Month, which is celebrated each May by preservation organizations across the country. The contest encourages residents and visitors to submit images that showcase the beauty of the City’s architecture, parks, and neighborhoods.
The Landmark Commission formally recognizes the City’s historic places through the designation of landmarks and the biennial Preservation Awards program. The Photo Contest asks the public to celebrate their favorite places in and views of Shaker Heights, regardless of landmark designation.
For the 2017 Photo Contest, one or more winners will be selected from the following categories:

- Buildings
- Parks and Public Spaces
- Moreland Neighborhood (special focus category for 2017)
Submissions will be accepted online through March 31, and winners will be announced in May. Winners will be recognized in a press release, on the City’s website, and on its Facebook page. The contest is free and open to all.
