Shaker Heights To Name Firefighter, Cop Of The Year

Police Sergeant Daniel D. Grispino and Firefighter/Paramedic Benjamin Miller will receive awards Oct. 18.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — On Oct. 18, the Shaker Heights Rotary Club will present its 2016 awards for cop of the year and firefighter of the year to Police Sergeant Daniel D. Grispino and Firefighter/Paramedic Benjamin Miller. The awards will be given out during an event at Shaker Heights Fire House, 17000 Chagrin Blvd.

Rotary Club President Charlie Mayer will play emcee for the event. Grispino and Miller will receive plaques and a monetary gift for their services.

Mayor Earl Leiken will be there for the awards. Chief of Police Jeffrey DeMuth and Chief of Fire Patrick Sweeney will also be on-hand for the event.

The Rotary Club has presented awards to the city's police officer and firefighters of the year for more than 20 years. The first awards James Yarcusko (police) and Dean Charvat (fire) in 1992.
