Shaker Heights Police Looking for Serial Robber

The suspect is believed to have hit stores in Shaker Heights and Garfield Heights. See video of one of his crimes.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH - Police are investigating a possible serial robber who has hit stores in Shaker Heights and Garfield Heights. Most recently, the man is believed to have hit a BP Gas Station on Larchmere Boulevard on Dec. 26.

Commander John Cole of the Shaker Heights Police said the man entered the gas station on Dec. 26 and started to chat with the clerk. He then distracted the man and forced his way into the restricted area. The suspect then pulled out a handgun and demanded money.

The suspect escaped on foot with about $150. Cole said police are investigating the possibility of an accomplice. Video of the incident is viewable below.

Shaker Heights and Garfield Heights are both members of a confidential police information sharing website, which is how the departments discovered the possible connection between similar robberies in Garfield Heights and this robbery in Shaker Heights. The suspect's description and tactics are incredibly similar, Cole said.
