Shaker Heights Schools Hosting Bond Levy Meeting
The levy would raise $30 million for the district for several repair and rebuild projects.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH - Community members will have a chance to comment on a school levy that will appear on the May 2 ballot. The Shaker Heights Board of Education is hosting a special community meeting on Feb. 6.
The meeting will be held at the Middle School auditorium, 201600 Shaker Blvd., from 7 to 8 p.m.
If voters approve the bond in May, the district will receive $30 million to meet the district's capital needs.
In Dec. 2016, Patch reported that the Board said the funds are needed to repair eight school building. Namely, the district needs to update the IT infrastructure and replace aging heating equipment. There are other needs laid out for the individual buildings.
