Shaker Homecoming Weekend Events Announced
Hall of Fame inductions, Raider Nation Night Outs, football games...what's not to love?

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — The Shaker Heights community is being invited to the 2018 Homecoming Celebration, called "Come Home to Shaker." Alumni, residents, families, students and staff can attend events throughout the weekend of September 28 through September 29.
During the course of the weekend, eight alumni will be inducted into the Shaker Schools Alumni Hall of Fame. There will also be a Raider Nation Night Out, a football game (of course), and more. Most of the events are free and open to the public. Pre-registration is encouraged.
On Friday, September 28, the Raider Nation Night Out (for adults) will be held at The Dealership, 3558 Lee Road. Live blues music from 1975 Shaker grad Sam Hooper will be played. Admission is free. There will be beer, wine and food from Off the Griddle food truck for purchase. A portion of the proceeds benefit the Shaker Schools Foundation.

Then, prior to Saturday's football game, the Shaker Heights community is invited to a pre-game festival from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the high school. The Euclid Beach Rocket Car, kids' activities organized by the Shaker Heights Recreation Department, hot dogs, treats from the East Coast Custard truck, and Dough Street cookie dough cart. Student group will sell food to support their clubs and sports teams. Admission is free.
At 1 p.m. on Saturday, Shaker Heights' football will take the field against the Elyria Pioneers at Russell H. Rupp Stadium. Tickets are $6 and there will be special seating for Shaker alums.

Also, on Saturday, the community is invited to check out Woodbury School's 100th birthday celebration. There will be tours of the building, a musical tribute, and refreshments. Tours run from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
After the game, on Saturday evening, the Hall of Fame Induction ceremony will take place. A cocktail reception starts at 6:30 p.m. and the inductions start at 7 p.m. Tickets are $60 per person and must be purchased by September 21.
