Shaker Students Raise $1,000 For Puerto Rico Relief

Students banded together to host a spaghetti dinner to help the hurricane-stricken area.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — Following in the footsteps of other Northeast Ohio school systems, the Shaker Heights High School Mano en Mano club, Student Council and Youth Ending Hunger/Interact Club hosted a fundraising spaghetti dinner to benefit the victims of the hurricane that devastated Puerto Rico.

"Thank you to everyone who chipped in to make the spaghetti dinner happen, from the kindergarteners who made the placemats, to the cafeteria workers who helped with the food, to all the High School kids who volunteered. It was a huge success," said Shaker Height High School science teacher and YEH/Interact Club Advisor Bill Scanlon in a statement.

The fundraising dinner was held Nov. 9 at the high school. The district said the spaghetti helped raise more than $1,000 or Puerto Rico.
