Spring Sports Roundup: Girls Lacrosse
How did the Shaker Heights High School girls lacrosse team do this year? Here's a quick summary. Fourth of a series.

2012 Record: 8-8 (9-8 last year)
Head Coach: Alison Bradford
Season highlights: The team's first loss, to Kent Roosevelt, was important “because we started to learn a lot about who we were as a team. We were 4-0 and took a really hard loss. After that game we had an amazing win in overtime to Magnificat. When we beat them this year, that was a good feeling coming off of that Kent loss. . . Winning is more fun than losing.”

Coach’s comment: “They did a lot of things well. What I think they did differently [was that] they looked at the word ‘teamwork.’ You have to be a really good player to play lacrosse at the high school level, but if you can’t pull it together as a team, you’re nothing. In lacrosse, you need five to seven core people. . . It’s a wasted effort if you’re not working together.”
