Succession Success: Estate Planning for your Collection
Presentation by William Anderson of Carnegie Investment Counsel and Dr. Ware Petznick, SHS Executive Director
The Shaker Historical Society (SHS), 16740 South Park Blvd. in Shaker Heights, OH invites you to another workshop in our ongoing series Caring for Your Collections. Join us on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at 3pm to hear William Anderson of Carnegie Investment Counsel and Dr. Ware Petznick, SHS Executive Director present Succession Success: Estate Planning for your Collection on Sunday November 16, 2014 at 3pm.
The workshop will focus on creating a succession plan for the ownership of your collections. Even though over 25% of the typical collector’s net worth is made up of the value of their collections, little financial planning involving collectibles is ever done. Without a thoughtful plan, typically 60% or more of the dollar value of a collection evaporates in an estate. The workshop will provide you with some simple and not so simple ideas on how to improve the legacy that your collecting has created.
Presenters at the workshop will include Dr. Ware Petznick of the Shaker Historical Society and William Anderson of Carnegie Investment Counsel. Ware holds a B.A. in Art History from Wellesley College and a PhD in Furniture History from the University of St. Andrews. She worked at a number of museums before coming to Cleveland. William is an investment adviser and avid collector. One of his practice specialties is providing counsel for families dealing with collections.
