Thefts From Unlocked Cars Continue In Shaker Heights
Make sure your houses and vehicles are locked before you call it a night.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — A string of thefts from unlocked cars and garages continued over the weekend, with property and bicycles being taken from spots throughout the city. The Shaker Heights Police Department asked residents to keep an eye out for suspicious activity near their homes and around their neighborhoods.
Residents should also take an extra moment during the evening to make sure their cars and homes are locked up. See the list of notable criminal incidents from the past weekend, including the thefts from unlocked cars and houses.
Theft from Motor Vehicle, August 9 — Property was taken out of an unlocked car parked in the 20000 block of Marchmont Road. The theft is believed to have occurred overnight.

Shoplifting, August 10 — Police were called to Heinen's, on Chagrin Boulevard, at about 9 a.m. on Friday. Officers detained a 61-year-old Shaker Heights resident that had been seen stealing goods from the store. The merchandise was found in the possession in the detained resident.
Theft, August 10 — An employee at BP/7-Eleven, on Warrensville Center Road, reported that someone stole money from the station.

Theft, August 10 — A man stole a cellphone from a Shaker Heights resident on Scottsdale Boulevard.
Theft from Motor Vehicle, August 11 — Property was taken out of an unlocked car parked in the 3000 block of Palmerston Road.
Theft, August 11 — A bicycle was taken from an unlocked garage in the 3000 block of Ingleside Road.
