Unified Curriculum In Shaker Schools Leads To New Administrative Position

Timothy Krevinko will build a district-wide curriculum that meets state standards and utilizes the International Baccalaureate Programme.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — On Aug. 15, 2017, the Shaker Heights Board of Education hired Timothy Krevinko to serve as the curriculum and instruction long-term administrator for the 2017-2018 school year. In the newly created role, Krevinko will help build a unified curriculum while meeting state standards and utilizing the district's famed International Baccalaureate Programme.

"Mr. Krevinko has the experience and leadership skills to facilitate our curriculum development process for the benefit of all children," said Terri L. Breeden, assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction. “We are delighted he has joined the Shaker team.

Krevinko's career as an educator reveals a long and varied list of experiences. A native Ohioan, he received his bachelor's degree in photojournalism from Kent State and a master's degree in reading comprehension from Baldwin Wallace College. He went on to serve as assistant principal for curriculum and assistant principal for student services in the Lee County, Florida school district. The Lee County system encompasses 121 school and more than 92,000 students. During his tenure there he helped meet state standards for education, built a district-wide instructional framework and lead the high school's advanced studies program.

Krevinko was also an assistant principal for the South-Western School District of Grove City, Ohio. He was interim assistant elementary principal and interim director of student services in the Buckeye Valley Local School District in Delaware, Ohio.

Most recently, he was a curriculum and instruction specialist for the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. He has also served as a teacher for the Brunswick and Berea school districts.
