Unlocked Homes, Cars Lead To Thefts in Shaker Heights
Remember to lock up your cars and homes before retiring for the evening. A number of thefts in the city occur with unlocked property.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH - The last seven days in the city have been marked by a rash of thefts from unlocked garages, homes, and cars. Everything from laptops, cash, jewelry, and iPads have been stolen. Even bicycles have gone missing. Read on for a list of some of the missing items.
Theft, Feb. 6 - Two bicycles were stolen from an unlocked garage on Lytle Road. The resident believes that the bicycles were stolen overnight.
Theft, Feb. 6 - An unidentified person or persons waltzed into a home on Huntington Road and walked out with jewelry and loose change.

Theft, Feb. 7 - Tools were stolen from a contractor doing work on Laureldale Road. The tools were left in an unlocked home.

Theft, Feb. 4 - Someone stole a juvenile resident's cell phone during a visit to University Middle School on Brantley Road. The theft occurred at about 2:30 p.m.
Burglary, Feb. 4 - A resident of an apartment complex on Fairhill Road reported that someone broke into their apartment and stole cash. The theft was reported at about 3:30 p.m.
Theft, Feb. 4 - Another theft from another unlocked vehicle. This time the victim's car was on the 17100 block of Lomond Boulevard and the theft was discovered at about 1 p.m.
