Welcome Shaker Heights Teachers Back To Work At Rally

The district is holding a welcome-back celebration on Thursday morning to kick-off the school year.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — Families of students in the Shaker Heights school system, and supporters in the district, will be invited to attend a welcome back ceremony for teachers and staff. On Thursday, parents will be invited to gather outside Shaker Heights High School and welcome back the staff with signs and cheers.

Parents are encouraged to either bring their own signs to the event or make one on-site. The event will officially start at 9:15 a.m., but those that want to make signs on-site will need to arrive by 9 a.m.

Speaking of signs, the district is also providing printable signs to be provided to kindergartners having their first day in the district. The district asks parents to take a picture of their child with that sign and then post it to social media with the tag #shakerfirstday.
