$1,600 Cell Phones Stolen From Solon Store

Police have issued a felony warrant for a Cleveland man suspected of stealing the property from the store.

SOLON, OH — Solon Police have issued a felony theft warrant for a Cleveland man believed to have stolen two cell phones, worth more than $1,600 each, from a local store. The man walked into the store, grabbed the display phones and ran out. A manager was able to get the man's license plate and share that information with police.

OVI, Sept. 3 — Police arrested a 56-year-old man from Oakwood after he was seen drifting over the fog line while driving west on Solon Road. Officers stopped the vehicle and watched as the driver pulled to a stop and quickly switched places with a passenger in the vehicle. A strong odor of alcohol was coming from the vehicle and field sobriety tests were conducted. The 56-year-old was taken to Solon Jail where he blew a .081 on a breath test. He has been charged with operating a vehicle impaired, prohibited BAC, and failure to maintain marked lanes.

Theft, Sept. 3 — Two display phones were stolen from Verizon Wireless, 6400 SOM Center Rd. Employees at the store called police at about 12:45 p.m. Sept. 3 to report the theft. The suspect, a male, grabbed the phones and ran out of the store. The manager said the man had made off with a Galaxy Note 8 and a Galaxy S7. Both phones are valued at $1,696. The manager got the license plate on the suspect's vehicle. A felony theft warrant has been issued for Marvin Williams, 29, of Cleveland.

OVI, Sept. 4 — Police arrested a 28-year-old Kent woman after she caused a car accident on US 422 east. The woman hit another car from behind, causing both vehicles to spin 180 degrees. Officers smelled alcohol on the woman and said she had bloodshot eyes. Field sobriety tests indicated she was impaired. She was arrested and taken to Solon Jail where she refused to take a breath test. She was charged with operating a vehilce impaired and failure to maintain an assured clear distance.
