12-Year-Old Girl Crashes Father's Car In Solon
Police said a 12-year-old girl took her father' car, without permission, and crashed it at a Solon intersection on Saturday night.
SOLON, OH — On Saturday night, a 12-year-old girl stole her father's car and crashed it on SOM Center Road, police said. The girl lied to police when they found her walking on North Roundhead Drive.
At 9:45 p.m. on Saturday, callers reported a one-car crash at the intersection of SOM Center and Cromwell. When officers arrived, the car was empty. Officers searched the area for the driver.
Police then found a girl walking on North Roundhead Drive. When officers turned toward the girl, she walked up to a home and rang the doorbell. No one answered the door. The girl then turned around and walked toward police.

She identified herself as a 12-year-old from Moreland Hills. She told officers she had an argument with her mother and then took an Uber to her current location.
After interviewing the girl, the 12-year-old revealed she had driven the crashed car and that she had taken the car without permission of her father.

Before taking the girl to Solon police station, the 12-year-old pulled out a 7 inch blade from her pants. She was then released to her parents.
The case has been forwarded to the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court.
