20-Year-Old Busted With Marijuana In Solon

The man had marijuana in his console and a white powdery substance stashed in his wallet when police arrested him.

SOLON, OH — Police busted a bevy of intoxicated drivers last week, including a 20-year-old who had marijuana in his console and a white powdery substance in his wallet. The young man got hostile during his arrest and had to be rushed to the hospital for emergency care. Read on for more information on that incident and others.

OVI, June 4 - Police stopped Andrew Steinmeyer, 29, of Moreland Hills, on SR 91 after he was spotted making several traffic violations. There were indications he was impaired and field sobriety tests confirmed that he was intoxicated. He was arrested and taken to jail where he blew a .102 on a breath test. He was charged with OVI, prohibited BAC, improper passing, and following too closely.

OVI, June 4 - Police stopped a car on US 422 after it traveled across the fog line several times. Raquel Cruz, 45, of Cleveland, was driving the car. She showed several signs of being intoxicated. Police put her through field sobriety tests before arresting her. She blew a .117 on a breath test and was charged with OVI, prohibited BAC, and failure to drive in marked lanes.

Domestic Violence, June 6 - A 45-year-old Solon resident was assaulted by her 25-year-old daughter. The daughter hit her mother with a 2 liter bottle of pop and then hit her in the face with her hand. The daughter was arrested and charged with domestic violence.

OVI, June 5 - Police saw a car driving erratically on US 422 and stopped it. The driver, Jimmy Ptak, 58, of Bainbridge, showed signs of being intoxicated. He was arrested and taken to jail where be blew a .038 on a breath test. He was charged with OVI, failure to drive in marked lanes, and failure to use turn signals.

OVI, June 5 - Police arrested Joseph Gardner, 20, of Willoughby Hills, after he was seen making several lane violations on US 422 east and SR 91. He showed signs of impairment when talking to officers and during field sobriety tests. Marijuana was found in the center console of his car. There was also a white powdery substance found in his wallet. Gardner became unstable during the arrest and had to be rushed to the emergency room for suspected illegal drug abuse. He was charged with OVI, failure to maintain marked lanes, possession of marijuana, and additional charges are possible based off lab results.
