3 Allegedly Drunk Drivers Arrested In Solon

One of the drivers was reportedly caught after he was sen driving on a closed road.

SOLON, OH — Police arrested a man for driving drunk after his car was seen travelling over a closed road on June 14. That was the first of three drunk driving arrests made over a seven-day span.

An officer spotted the car travelling on the closed part of Solon Road at about 10:50 p.m. The driver, a 54-year-old man from Garfield Heights, smelled of alcohol, police said.

The officer administered field sobriety tests, which indicated the man was impaired, police said. The man was arrested and taken to Solon Jail, where he refused to take a breath test. He is being charged with operating a vehicle impaired and not obeying traffic control devices.

Then, on June 19, police arrested a Mooresville man who was seen getting off on SR 91 in a car with an expired license plate. The officer then saw the man's car make a wide turn before moving back to the curb lane.

The driver smelled like alcohol, police said. Field sobriety tests indicated the man was impaired and he was arrested and taken to Solon Jail. He refused to take a breath test. He is being charged with operating a vehicle impaired, improper left turn, expired plates, no seat belt and open container, police said.

Finally, on June 21, an Oakwood man was seen drifting over the fog line on SR 91. Police stopped him on Kruse Drive after he made a wide turn into another lane. The driver's eyes were reportedly glassy and bloodshot, police said. He appeared extremely nervous when talking to officers.

The man was arrested and refused to take a breath test. He is charged with operating a vehicle impaired and marked lanes.
