3 Impaired Drivers Arrested In 3 Days In Solon: Police Blotter

The drivers were stopped for speeding, swerving, and having expired license plates. They were arrested for drinking and driving.

SOLON, OH — Three impaired drivers were arrested in a three-day span this month, Solon Police said. One of the drivers had a vape pen loaded with marijuana, according to police. Read about all three incidents below.

OVI, Feb. 1 — Police stopped a car on SR 91 after it was seen driving "all over the road." As the vehicle turned from US 422 onto SR 91, it crossed over the white lane markings and then committed other traffic violations, police said. The driver, a 52-year-old Twinsburg woman, denied drinking alcohol, but police said they smelled booze. The woman was chewing gum while speaking with officers. Eventually, it was determined the 52-year-old was impaired, so she was arrested and taken to the Solon Correction Center. She refused to take a breath test. She has been charged with marked lanes violations and operating a vehicle intoxicated. Her driver's license was immediately suspended.

OVI, Feb. 3 — While patrolling on Cannon Road, an officer spotted a car driving 64 mph in a 35 mph zone. The vehicle was stopped and the driver, a 22-year-old Solon woman, smelled strongly of alcohol, police said. She was slurring her words and told police she had been drinking "socially." She was arrested and taken to the Solon Correction Center. She took a breath test and blew .162. She was charged with speeding, operating a vehicle impaired, and prohibited BAC.

OVI, Feb. 3 —A car with an expired license plate was stopped on Aurora Road by police. The driver, a 27-year-old from Cleveland, smelled like alcohol. He told police he had consumed a "few beers downtown" before driving a friend home to Solon. Field tests were done and then the man was arrested and taken to Solon Correction Center. He took a breath test and blew a .114. Police then searched the man's car and found a vape pen loaded with a marijuana cartridge. The man has been charged with driving with expired license plates, operating a vehicle impaired, prohibited BAC, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
