3 Impaired Drivers Busted On US 422 In Solon In One Night
Officers busted drivers all night long on Sept. 10. Only one of the suspects took a breath test.

SOLON, OH — Police were busy all night on Sept. 10. Officers caught three impaired drivers on US 422, mostly in the early morning hours. Most of the suspects refused to take a breath test.

OVI, Sept. 10 — Police stopped a 28-year-old Cleveland man for speeding on US 422. The driver was recorded going 88 mph in a 60 mph zone. Officers smelled alcohol when they spoke to the man. There were two six-packs of alcohol on the floorboard of the passenger compartment. The man's eyes were bloodshot and field sobriety tests were performed. The man was arrested and taken to Solon Jail where he refused to take a breath test. He was charged with speeding and OVI.

OVI, Sept. 10 — Officers stopped a 41-year-old Solon man at 3 a.m. on Sept. 10. The man was unable to maintain his lane while driving and got pulled over. The man smelled of alcohol and field sobriety tests confirmed the man was impaired. He was taken to Solon Jail where he failed to provide a breath sample. He was charged with OVI and failure to maintain marked lanes.
OVI, Sept. 10 — Solon Police were busy busting impaired drivers on Sept. 10. This time officers arrested a 32-year-old Warren man on US 422 after he was seen driving 79 mph in a 60 mph zone. The man smelled of alcohol and marijuana. Field sobriety tests suggested impairment and the man was arrested and taken to Solon Jail. He blew a .083 on a breath test. He was charged with OVI, prohibited BAC, possession of marijuana and speeding.

OVI, Sept. 16 — Police stopped a car on SR 91 for speeding on Sept. 16. The car was recorded going 50 mph in a 35 mph zone. Officers say the vehicle was also weaving on the road. The driver smelled of alcohol. Field sobriety tests indicated the driver was impaired. The driver refused to take a breath test and was taken to Solon Jail. He was charged with OVI, speeding and failure to maintain marked lanes.
Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Sept. 18 — A Solon man reported that a friend of his hit him and snatched his car keys earlier in the day. The man was driving his friend around when she started asking him to take her to surrounding communities and to different locations. He refused and while the two were driving on Fox Hill Drive she got violent, punching him. He stopped the car, got out, and the two struggled for the keys. The woman got control of the keys and left with the car. The 53-year-old woman was arrested on Sept. 20 and the man's vehicle was recovered. The woman is being held on a felony warrant out of Portage County and is charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
